Cork City Local Elections 2014 Live Blogging #corkcity #le14

Update 15.02
Officials counting Cork North Central. It’s all about transfer her from the SF/AAA block. This is the one of two LEAs in Cork that demonstrates both the rise of the left and the collapse of Labour.

Also Kieran McCarthy will be the kingmaker in a new pact – maybe the independent Mayor since ’48.

The South City ward tallies are available on line on the excellent Cork Elections site.

Update 13.43

Hi all,

After several months of silence due to the HDip I am returning today to post updates from the Cork City Council elections count for City Hall.

Being the only Local authority in the country which has remained unchanged from the 2009 local elections, direct comparisons can be easily made to truly understand the decline in party fortunes for FG and Labour while the rise of Sinn Féin and Independents can be charted also.

The count moves from Nemo to City Hall from about 2pm so this blog will be updated regularly from then.
